A few years back, two of my best friends and I opened up a restaurant/bar in downtown Santa Ana, CA, called The Crosby. Most of my waking hours are consumed by it, or projects related to it. Soon enough, I’ll update and fill this section with some personal music, design, writing and film.

Until then—here’s my most recent film project.

FREE THE ROBOTS - JUPITER (Official Video) from Phil Nisco on Vimeo.

(posted JAN.3.11)

I’m happy to say that the music video that I did for Chris (Free The Robots) has finally been released!  We did this on a zero budget and shot it within a couple of very small windows of time over the two days before chris left for his month-long tour.  Due to the universally constricting factors of “no time and no money”, the end product strayed greatly from the original concept piece (as it was written).  Being that it’s the first film-related project that I’ve actually outputted to the public, the challenge of having to creatively edit a new story from the limited amount of footage that we had to work with was a good learning experience.  I’m glad that I now, at the very least, have a starting point of which I can grow from within the medium.

Thank you Paul Nguyen for your input, your magic eye behind the lens, and your willingness to hop in my car and drive to the desert at 4am.  Thank you Chris Alfaro for allowing me to interpret your music and psyche into moving picture, for agreeing to act (when I know you really didn’t want to), and for staying awake while the camera was rolling.  I couldn’t have done it w/out you guys.
